House training a puppy requires consistency and patience. You need to learn the methods in how to train your puppies. And today, I’m going to give you some steps on how to train your puppies and make things work for both of you.
It’s suggested that puppies should be at least 6 months old before you initiate the house training. House training a puppy is a method in which puppies are taught to develop their sensory receptor and comprehension. Some puppy can be just as easy to teach while others aren’t so in house training should be made with total patience and should be done in an environment that is quiet and spacious.
First, you need to find a place in your house where you want your puppy to perform his training sessions, a collar and a leash. It should only take for at least over two weeks to handle the routine. And while doing it, you have to be in control, consistent and committed. Each progress relies much on how you do it.
Next, is to consistently call your puppy with his name. By doing that, it will recognize you by the way you call it. You can do that by rewarding it with bits of food, and bones. This way you will attract his attention.
Don’t forget to reward your puppy after a very good performance. Keep repeating the exercise and remember to enrich your practice with some toys to attract his attention as well. House training a puppy to follow your command should not be difficult. You may try throwing a ball towards a certain direction, and let the dog chase it. You could also guide it back to where you are situated and repeat the exercise. Always remember to call your puppy by its name.

Next, we move on to toilet training. House training a puppy requires patience as I’ve said earlier. Take him outside the house; you can conduct all the training around the garden. You have to remember that toilet training as you know it, is not the same with your pup. It can be anywhere, and anytime for your pet. So you have to be very specific with the spot you choose. Try to establish a routine, it is mostly suggested to patiently take your puppy to the toilet area at specific times. Make it a point to do it, after food and water, after playing, after waking up or at least every waking hour.
But of course, you also have to consider showing where he has to go. Lead your pup to the right spot, stay with your dog. And after doing a good job, never forget to reward him. This activity will be a little confusing with your pup, and it will take a while before the response turns out just the way you want it. Just remember, choose a place that is good for both of you, don’t forget his needs, call him by his name and reward him for all the good things he showed during training.
